Personal quotes
"I see the horrible way some stars deal with other people, and I don't know how they get away with it. Maybe it comes back to them in a different karma."
Biography from Leonard Maltin's Movie Encyclopedia:
This cute, spunky young lead made a commanding debut as a shamelessly sexual teenager in David Leland's British drama Wish You Were Here (1987). Two years later she successfully dropped her English accent for two American films-as a Kentuckian in Norman Jewison's post-Vietnam drama In Country and as a mobster's daughter in Susan Seidelman's Cookie (both 1989). Her films, which also include the Britishmade Chicago Joe and the Showgirl (1990), have yet to meet with the commercial success her talents deserve. She "went American" again for director Robert Redford in A River Runs Through It (1992).
