Edward's younger brother James, who bears a remarkable resemblance to his older sibling but seems less grave, is also a talented actor. In 1970 he forsook acting for religion, pursuing missionary goals before returning to films more than a decade later. He also wrote a book about his experiences, "Comeback: An Actor's Direction," in 1983.
