Biography from Leonard Maltin's Movie Encyclopedia:

Tall, impassive, WASPish character actor who shot to fame on Broadway for his memorable turn as one of the corrupt realtors in David Mamet's "Glengarry Glen Ross." Since moving over to feature films, Walsh has been incredibly prolific, playing almost nothing but quietly sinister white-collar sleazeballs in such films as Power (his first), Hannah and Her Sisters (both 1986), Tin Men (1987), Tequila Sunrise (1988), The Big Picture (1989, as a smarmy movie executive), The Grifters (1990), Narrow Margin (also 1990, in which he was surprisingly sympathetic and vulnerable), Backdraft and Defenseless (both 1991), as well as Mamet's House of Games (1987) and Things Change (1988). He also limned an obnoxious Army officer in Good Morn ing, Vietnam (1987), reporter Bob Woodward in Wired (1989), and a relatively conscientious police officer in Iron Maze (1991). Ironically, by the time "Glengarry" finally began filming in 1991, Kevin Spacey had won the part Walsh made famous on stage. But 1992 saw him in fine form, as union leader Frank Fitzsimmons in Hoffa and as a Marine officer who discovers he has a conscience in A Few Good Men Recent credits include National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon I the telefilm Arthur Miller's "The American Clock," Needful Things, Red Rock West, Morning Glory, Sniper (all 1993), Blue Chips, The Last Seduction (both 1994), and Outbreak (1995, unbilled).
