| Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: |
Lifelong friends, one a supposedly retired drug dealer, the other a fast-rising L. A. cop, are forced to confront each other, both in business and in vying for the affections of a sleek restaurant owner. All three leads exude considerable charisma, but after a snappy start the script leads them nowhere. Veteran director Budd Boetticher plays a judge. Disappointing result for writer-director Towne.
