On "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993) he was an admiral who attempted to seize control of Starfleet. On "Stargate SG-1" (1997) he was a political leader who nearly fell victim to a coup against him. On "Enterprise" (2001) he played the leader of the Vulcan High Council who attempted to instigate a war between the Vulcans and the Andorians.
The Houston native started his acting career out as a young teen apprentice at Houston's Alley Theatre.
Studied at both Carnegie Tech and Stanford University.
Spent three seasons in the mid-to-late 1960s at Washington D.C.'s Arena Theatre before making his Broadway debut in a 1969 production of "Henry V".
