Edward Herrmann Scroll down for movie list. This fine actor, often seen as a bureaucrat or corporate executive, hasn't gotten the big-screen opportunities he truly merits; TV gave him his best roles, as FDR in the telefilmsEleanor and Franklin (1976) and Eleanor and Franklin: The White House Years (1977), and baseball great Lou Gehrig in A Love Affair: The Eleanor and Lou Gehrig Story (1978). He also appeared as the founder of the hospital in "St. Elsewhere." Tall, somewhat ungainly, and usually bespectacled, Herrmann might well be an unlikely leading man, but has provided able support in many movies and can always be counted upon for ex- emplary performances. He works fre- quently on stage (he won a Tony for "Mrs. Warren's Profession") and in tele- vision.
