Enjoyable only at spots, the music is only so-so. Not a top tier musical in the firs place. Way too long
Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis:
Appalling film version of Lerner-Loewe musical has only good orchestrations and sporadically good acting to recommend it; no one can sing and production looks cheap, in spite of big budget. This did, however, win Oscars for Costumes, Scoring, and Art Direction/Set Decoration. Film's nonstop use of close-ups may help it on TV. Panavision.
