Suprisingly good movie. Candy does a believable job as the ner-do-well that turns out to care. Touching in the end. I cried.

Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: |
Ne'er-do-well bachelor Candy has to look after his brother's kids for a couple of days... and surprise! The perpetual foul-up turns out to be a caring and responsible uncle. Comedy with serious and sentimental strains gives Candy one of his better vehicles, though writer-director Hughes' inconsistencies keep it from scoring a bull's-eye. Followed by a TV series.

One of the best movies made. So funny. My daughter and I still watch it once or twice a year. I amimpressed with Elaine Bromka who I have seen in other programs as well as a video talking about college libraries she did in 1991.
