Well done. Nice cast (with the exception of Margo Kidder who makes a bad Lois Laine). Special effects are great. Just the right amount of humor.
Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis:
Dynamic, grandly entertaining saga of the Man of Steel, tracing his life from Krypton to Smallville to Metropolis, mixing equal parts sincerity, special effects (which earned a special Oscar), and send-up. Great fun. The network TV version added 49m. of outtakes--including cameos by Noel Neill and Kirk Alyn as Lois Lane's parents. Followed by three sequels. Panavision.
