A cliche at this point, but still a fun movie. Burt at his wise cracking best. Even Gleason is fun (I am not a fan). Re-watching in 2018, it does not hold up well.

Box-office smash is one long comedy chase, as bootlegger Reynolds outraces Sheriff Gleason for nearly the entire film. Directorial debut of ace stuntman Needham is (expectedly) brimming with stunts. About as subtle as The Three Stooges, but a classic compared to the sequels and countless rip-offs which have followed.
