Whoopi provides some interst, but basically a dumb movie with a dumb premise.
Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis:
A Reno lounge singer, targeted for murder by her mobster boyfriend, hides out in a convent--where she shakes things up as the new choir director. Crowd-pleasing comedy, cannily written (by Joseph Howard) and directed, with a plum part if there ever was one for Whoopi--though veteran character actress Wickes has many of the funniest lines. Followed by a sequel.
