Quite entertaining. Pesci and Tomei are terrific. Fred Gwynne steal all the scenes he is in. Hard to believe that Tomei was nominated for and Academy award for this but it is fun.

Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: |
Very likable (if much too lackadaisical) comedy about Brooklyn ``lawyer'' Pesci's attempt to defend his innocent cousin (Macchio) and a friend on a murder charge in the Deep South. Pesci is perfect in a tailor-made part, and Tomei (in an Oscar-winning performance) is a delight to watch as his girlfriend. But there's no reason for this simple comedy to take so long to get where it's going.
