Wonderful teen story. Feels quite real. One of the best films of the 80's.
Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis:
Thoroughly winning story of a precocious 14-year-old boy who develops a serious crush on the new girl in town--and the various ramifications that follow. One of the few Hollywood films about young people in the 80s that doesn't paint its characters in black and white only. A real sleeper, marking writer Seltzer's directing debut as well as screen debut for Ryder.
