Mel's goofy humor and Glover's distressed dignity are a great combo. This is the best of the 4 of these movies. Funny, interesting, fast moving.

Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: |
Undercover cop Gibson, a borderline psychopath who's always on the edge, is partnered with stable family-man Glover, and they prove a good team as they go after a particularly scummy drug ring. Loud, violent, trashy cop movie done to a turn; fast paced and entertaining so long as you don't think about it too much. Followed by three sequels.

Very enjoyable. Unlike most other cop films, this one's got edge. Richard Donner's direction is top-notch as well, and he directs it with a very flashy visual style that somehow works. Easily the best out of all the Lethal Weapon films. Glover and Gibson are a terrific team. Michael Kamen and Eric Clapton's score helps bring the film to life. Not deep, but entertaining and fun.
