A terrific ride. The opening sequence in the night club is great. At times it runs out of steam and is the least of the Indiana Jones films(until the Crystal Skull), but is still pretty great.

Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: |
Headache-inducing prequel to RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, but this time the 1930s archaeologist/adventurer has a weaker story and wimpier heroine. Re-creates (and outdoes) a bunch of great cliffhanger stunts, but never gives us a chance to breathe... and tries to top the snake scene in RAIDERS by coming up with a variety of new ``gross-out'' gags. Oscar winner for Visual Effects. Followed by INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE. Panavision.
