Not quite as good as the first, but still fun. Peter MacNicol is funny as the "Villian". Some good use of NYC locations.

Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: |
Amiable, entertaining sequel has the ghostbusting boys reteaming five years after their last adventure to save N. Y. C. from a slime attack of gargantuan proportions, generated by all the ``negative energy'' in the air of the Big Apple. Longish but good-natured, with some solid laughs along the way. Chloe Webb has a funny unbilled cameo as a guest on Murray's cable TV show. Panavision.

An excellent sequel, Ghostbusters II is a spiritually apealing film, leaving you in a feel good manner after watching it. After all, what other movie features a real war between good and evil, where evil is generated by everyone's bad attitudes and emotions, to fuel an evil wizard, who in my opinion is one of the greatest and most evil villains ever created? Sure the "love" and "positive energy" themes won't be accepted by everyone, but still, Ghostbusters II is a great movie. Despite its similarities in plot to the original, Ghostbusters II is a worthy follow up to a greath classic. Some people may enjoy this movie more than the original like I do.
