Bleak, disturbing movie. Good performances all around. Untypical stuff for Meg.
Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis:
Moody but murky "sins of the father" drama, with Quaid well cast as a vending machine supplier who discovers that the
tough-luck case he's been driving around Texas figured in the childhood tragedy that has dominated his life. Absolutely no dramatic payoff, but simply oozing in portent. Undeniable standouts are Philippe Rousselot's photography and the performance of newcomer Paltrow as a sexy con woman.
