Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: |
Funny farce about an uptight British barrister who becomes involved with a sexy con artist (Curtis), her mindlessly macho boyfriend (Kline), and their ambitious bank robbery and getaway scheme. Less outrageous than Monty Python film, but Cleese's script still makes sure to include enough bad-taste gags to either repel or delight his audience, depending on one's personal point of view. Kline won an Oscar for his flamboyant comic performance. The cast later reunited for FIERCE CREATURES.
