Let's face it. They don't make movies like this anymore. Seems like there was a time, I guess it was the early 80's, when Hollywood was willing to tell simple but powerful stories using country and/or western themes, music, etc. Every Which Way But Loose, Any Which Way You Can, Songwriter, even Cannonball Run and Smokey and the Bandit I would put in this category. For some reason, they all make me feel good. It's a segment of the population whose stories don't seem to get told anymore, and I feel they have a lot to say and can be a lot of fun.
This film has a lot of heart, a lot of character, and a lot of honor, in my opinion. Teaches one how to live, and live well.
