Adding a little bit of a background story and a few more characters to Alice's adventures does not help the basic dullness of the fantasy in what should be a fantastic story. Love Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, but here they both appear to be coasting. The 3-D is distracting and does not add to the experience. The best moments are provided by Carter as the Red Queen. Overall this isn't awful, just a bit dull.
