Reviews
Mine: Terrific movie. Scared me big time, and made me think as well. I will have to think about this a little more before I figure out what we might get from it. Gibson is really good. The two young kids are really good. A very Hitchcockian movie.
Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: A family living on a farm finds mysterious crop circles in their fields which suggests something more frightening to come.

What a load of rubbish!!! I must admit it was scary but when i first saw the alien... well you'd that the directors could come up with a more original looking one! They plot was good but we didn't really find out with much detail why they used 'signs' and why they were coming to earth! Also, if these Aliens are so intelligent and can fly through space with high tech gear etc, then why the hell can't one alien get out of a locked pantry door??? Very poor and was happy to leave the cinema go home and hire a few other good movies - ALIEN

The stupidest movie I've seen all year. Some of the acting was part-way decent but the plot and special effects could deffinitely use some work. Although I'm rarely scarred by movies this one actually forced me to fight off yawning. All in all, it was very dissapointing.

You've got to be kidding me. WASN'T SCARY AT ALL. The acting talent was wasted. Starts off good, but then suddenly turns into a stupid, nonsensical plot that has a dumb ending. The aliens apparently have "problem solving" skills, yet they can't kick a damn wooden door down?! They're weak to water, yet the earth is over 70% water and it's even in our atmosphere. Gibson's dying wife alludes to an alien invasion by saying "tell Merryl to swing away." OH MY, the aliens are also weak to... BASEBALL BATS! Geez. Stupid. It's also sad because the intention of the film is good; things do happen for a reason and God is involved. But the film just sucks. Director Schmalayan has talent, but he saddled the cast with a plot filled with gaping plot holes and unbelievable circumstances (not to mention some of the most unprofessional camera angles that serve no purpose to the scenes at all). I can't emphasize how bad this is and I can't believe it got rave reviews. Don't watch Signs.
