Well plotted spy thriller. This is what spy thrillers are supposed to be. Great action, terrific scenery, and quick moving. Often the success depends on a top notch villain, here Chris Cooper does a really good job. Damon is good. Styles is thrown away. Potente has a certain exotic look about her that is perfect.

The cast is extroadinarily good; too bad Julia Stiles is wasted here. The story is very good, too. Its only drawback is overlength because of a plodding midsection, but it's turned around for a thrilling conclusion. Highly recommended.
