A visually interesting movie, but emotionally distant. Williams and Sciorra do not have any real chemistry so the "soul mates" bit is hard to believe. The depictions of "heaven" and "hell" are interesting and provocative, still lacking in emotion given the subject matter.

Emotionally devastating! While watching this movie, it affected me negatively. I then felt the need to watch it again and again (which I never do). It is my favorite of all time. I think it does depend on your experiences in life and age. Chris, after seeing your rating and "emotionally distant" remark, I don't think you are old enough to be "wise" enough yet!

This movie gave me nightmares...I fell asleep with it on, and the next thing I knew, I was IN the movie.....
It's so surreal it's frightening. I didn't get much from this one, but LOVED the scenes in the painting. WIlliams does well, Cuba is great in this.

I'm amazed that anyone would give this film less than 5 stars. No chemistry between Williams/Sciorra? did you watch the same film that I saw? Even without the terrific special effects and perfect cast the story line is enough to carry this film to 4 stars. I don't think I've ever seen a better romance movie.
