Very sweet. This was the first movie that I saw Drew Barrymore in and was impressed since E.T. Very restrained for Adam Sandler. Made me nostalgic for the Mid-Eighties.

Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: |
Sandler plays a genuinely sweet guy whose life is shattered when his fiancée stands him up at the altar--but finds consolation in the friendship of a waitress who he discovers is about to marry a real jerk.Sandler has never been more appealing, or Barrymore more adorable. Entertaining romantic comedy set in 1985 marred only by moments of crude dialogue that don't seem absolutely necessary. Steve Buscemi appears unbilled as a groom's dissipated brother.

This is a great romance...the ending kills me every single time. Adam Sandler is at his best.
