Very little dramatic tension. Some fun vingiettes about theatrical production, but the best parts are the numbers from "The Mikado". Overly long for a almost plotless movie.

Set in the 1880s, chronicles how during a creative dry spell, the partnership of the legendary musical/theatrical writers Gilbert and Sullivan almost dissolves, before they turn it all around and write the Mikado.
