Adaptation of the Broadway musical hit--with much of its original cast intact--virtually defines the word ``exuberance. '' Day is a joy as the head of a factory grievance committee who unexpectedly falls in love with the new foreman (Raitt, in his only starring film). Richard Adler and Jerry Ross's songs include ``Hernando's Hideaway,'' ``Hey, There'' and ``There Once Was a Man. '' Dancer Haney stands out in her ``Steam Heat'' feature and in the energetic ``Once a Year Day'' picnic number. Choreography by Bob Fosse.
