Kind of interesting. Anything with Hayley is at least pretty good. This is the least of her Disney movies.

Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: |
Disney's attempt at Hitchcock-like intrigue with a light touch has Hayley a vacationer in Crete who becomes involved with jewelry-smuggling ring. Too long and muddled to hit bullseye, but still entertaining, with Negri (off-screen since 1943) an enjoyable villainess.

This is an okay movie, but the really disappointing thing is that it is nothing like the book that it is supposedly based upon (except for the names of the characters and even some of those are mixed up). The book "The Moonspinners" by Mary Stewart is one of my all time favorites. It is full of intrigue and excitement and the story line is so much more interesting than this movie adaptation.

Although I have not read the book I thought this was a delightful movie. However, I did wish there was more between Marc and Nikki, but this is a family movie and made in 1964. But it certainly is a movie that I recommend to any family wanting to sit down and enjoy adventure, intrigue, and mystery.
