Very good film, but comes across as kind of dated now. Impressive debut by Hoffman.

Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: |
Landmark film of the late 60s that's still just as pungent--and funny--as ever. Hoffman, in his first major film role, plays ultra-naive college grad who's seduced by a middle-aged woman, then falls in love with her daughter. Perfect song score by Simon and Garfunkel. Script by Buck Henry (who plays the desk clerk) and Calder Willingham from Charles Webb's novel. Nichols won Best Director Oscar. Look fast for Mike Farrell in hotel lobby, and Richard Dreyfuss in Berkeley rooming house. Panavision.

Dated it may be, but I think it's a landmark for film. The cinematography is very interesting and there's some great acting. I love to watch it.
