It is good to see a movie take such a liberal stance. Matthau is terrific.
Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis:
Talky but OK adaptation of Jerome Lawrence-Robert E. Lee stage hit about Tracy-and-Hepburn-like clash of wills
between first female member of the Supreme Court (a staunch conservative) and the most liberal of her brethren. Lost some of its novelty when it happened for real just before film was released, but still amusing; Paper Chase alum Stephens plays ...a law clerk. Panavision.
