Has some fun moments, but a real stretch to make an entire movie. Gimmick of multiple endings is strained and silly. Curry has nice energy, but stilted and dull writing sinks this one

Leonard Maltin/Plot synopsis: |
Silly comic whodunit based on the popular board game of the same name with all the familiar characters (Mrs. Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlet, et al) gathered for a murderous night in a Victorian mansion. Everyone tries very hard--too hard, since the script, by first-time feature director Lynn, is so slim; addle-brained Brennan and puckish butler Curry come off best. When this played theatrically, audiences saw one of three alternate endings. Video has all three in a row to total 96m.

Come on Chris, it's better than that! I think the film is good. It's funny and clever for the most part. Good cast, although if you like the murder mystery comedy, "Murder by Death" is better.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this film. It's so nuts it may just work! My sister is freaked out by Tim Curry and can't bear to watch him, usually... this film is the only thing she can watch him in. He's such a laugh. His physical comedy makes this movie what it is... genius!
Because of this movie I won't be able to listen to a singing telegram without peeing myself laughing. Seriously guys, if you haven't seen this movie but you stumbled across this page accidentally, don't leave without taking my advice... watch this movie. It's a seriously funny, cheer yourself up kinda movie. Go on... you know you want to!
