Biography from Leonard Maltin's Movie Encyclopedia:
Crater-faced, seemingly emotionless character actor and occasional lead, best as cold-blooded heavies but equally facile as hard-boiled cops. Educated at Long Island's Hofstra University and The Actors' Studio, Davi started acting on stage but worked movies into his schedule beginning in 1984. He's appeared in City Heat (1984), The Goonies (1985), Raw Deal (1986), Wild Thing (1987), Die Hard (1988, as Special Agent Johnson), and Maniac Cop 2 (1990). Davi's high-profile gig as James Bond's arch-foe in 1989's Licence to Kill should have been a breakthrough role, but to date he still labors in supporting parts and as an occasional lead in direct-to-video movies. Recent credits include Christopher Columbus: The Discovery (1992), Son of the Pink Panther (1993), and Cops and Robbersons (1994). | |
