Fast-rising actress who earned raves-and a Supporting Oscar nomination-as the teenager who flirts dangerously with psycho Max Cady (Robert De Niro) in the thriller Cape Fear (1991). The daughter of character actor Geoffrey Lewis, Juliette, who was legally emancipated at 14, dropped out of high school to concentrate on her acting and appeared in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989, as Chevy Chase's daughter) and Crooked Hearts (1991) before the success of Cape Fear She replaced Emily Lloyd in mid-production as the college student who attracts and intrigues professor Woody Allen in Husbands and Wives (1992), and has also starred in That Night (1993), Kalifornia (1993, opposite then boyfriend Brad Pitt), What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), Romeo Is Bleeding, Natural Born Killers and Mixed Nuts (all 1994). |  |
