Judd Hirsch Scroll down for movie list. Height 6' ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Spouse 'Bonnie Chalkin' (1992 - present); 1 child '?' (1957 - 1958) (divorced) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Biography from Leonard Maltin's Movie Encyclopedia:
With a prominent nose and ethnic mien, Hirsch might seem an unlikely candidate for stardom, but he has toplined several TV series in between successful Broadway runs in such plays as "Talley's Folly," and the Herb Gardner plays "I'm Not Rappaport," and "Conversations With My Father," both of which earned him Tony Awards. He was cabbie Alex Rieger in the popular sitcom "Taxi" (1978-83, winning two Emmys) and also starred in "Delvecchio" (1976-77) and "Dear John" (1988-91). He's also done some fine work in movies, especially as the sympathetic shrink in Ordinary People (1980, earning an Oscar nomination), the understanding cop in Without a Trace (1983), and as the former 1960s radical in Running on Empty (1988). Other credits include King of the Gypsies (1978, his debut), Teachers (1984), and The Goodbye People (also 1984, written and directed by Herb Gardner). | |
